I found it!

In 1980, Central Africa, in Congo formerly Zaire, I discovered an amazing medicinal plant which cured me in an incredibly short period of time. I had lived there for 6 years, and taught chemistry in secondary school and college. I contracted several local diseases like malaria, amobiazis; parasitosis for which there are known cures. Around October 1979 I started having back pain, around the area of my kidney. Later the pain spread to my abdomen and I had chronic constipation. the doctors there treated me for all the local diseases but to no avail.

In March 1980 I travelled to visit my husband who worked in the countryside about 50 km from the city of Bukavu, whilst there I visited the nuns at the local hospital of Walungu. We were having a conversation about my ongoing condition, a sister nun suggested to try a local traditional medicine. We went into the garden where I was shown a plant that was growing wildly. She had no idea what it cured but said it was one of the most commonly used medicines amongst the locals in traditional healing. I was told to drink a prepared mixture out of several of these plants daily. I didn’t hesitate and started drinking it the same day. Within 3 days the constipation had cleared completely and within 10 days I was pain free.

I realised that this traditional medicine was curing my unknown ailment for which all other medicines had no effect. I continued drinking this tea for two months and impressed by its effects started gathering as much information about the plant from the local people as I could.

A Belgian colleague came to me saying she had to return home as an operation five years previous for breast cancer was showing signs of re-occuring. I did not hesitate to tell her about this amazing plant and what it had done for me, I encouraged her to try it and we drank it together. Two weeks later she flew to Belgium where all the tests showed there was no change in her condition from five years ago.

Later that summer we went on holiday to Belgium, Germany and finally Hungary, impressed by the plant and its effects I took a kilo of dried plant with me intending to give it to whoever complained of feeling unwell. To a friend in Belgium I gave some as she told me that she had a walnut sized myoma. In Nurenberg, Germany I save some to a friend who had a breast tumor, and the remainder I gave to my sister in Hungary to give to anybody should they need it. The response from the friends to this tea was incredible, after one month the myoma my Belgian friend had disappeared completely and the lady from Nurenberg after 4 months had greatly improved results.

Inspired by the positive results I felt compelled to look into this plant origins and find out what was known about it, its effects both traditionally and scientifically. I remained in Africa for another ten years but gathering scientific information was difficult as the internet was unavailable at this time and printed data was hard to find, but I had no doubt in my mind that this plant was responsible for the healing of several people. In 1990 I returned home to Hungary for good taking my plant and all the research with me, I worked on this plant for five more years and in 1995 finally managed to obtain a commercial license to market this product as a filtered tea in Hungary for stomach and intestinal disorders. Later we started to produce a gel and cream for external use.
